Atom 315 Battery edger - 5AH

The weight of the 315 “skin” without a battery is 6kg. The 2.5AH battery is 1.025kg, while the 5.0AH battery is 1.806kg.So the 315-2.5 weighs just a whisker over 7kg in total, and the 315-5.0 about 7.8kg. Both the batteries are 58volt Lithium Ion Batteries, and the electric motor in the motor pod is a 900watt brushless motor. In regard to the run time, that is a difficult question to answer. As you would know, the more load you put any battery powered machine under, the quicker it will drain the battery. Having said that, we have tested the 315-2.5 model here at the factory, cutting into virgin ground at a depth of 50mm (way more than the recommended 12 to 15mm), and found the battery lasted approximately 15 minutes. Please keep in mind that this test was under extreme conditions, and that if being used on existing well established and maintained edges, cutting to the recommended depth, it should have no problem completing an standard suburban house block, including a footpath on the nature strip.If cutting new edges, we would expect that it would deplete the battery quicker (as in the above test case), but once the edge is established, it should do the standard yard no problems.  The recharge time for the 2.5AH battery is approximately 1 hour, and the 5.0AH about 2 ½ hours.
